Death & Reanimation
When the Malice first appeared, the long dead tore themselves free from their graves, their bodies reanimated by an unknown force. As violence erupted throughout Eden, it quickly became obvious that something was very wrong: Death itself was no longer final. With the Pact broken and the membrane between Eden and the rest of the world destroyed, word of this strange phenomena quickly began to spread.
Ordinary people, too, sometimes found themselves reanimated after dying. Bit by bit, people would be born again but only fractions of themselves remained. Each time, they grew more and more…distorted.
With every death, shreds of individuality and sanity are shaved off, until nothing of the original person remains. Then, the Malice takes them, adding their number to the ceaseless dead.
reanimation rules & guidelines
Reanimation scenes are effectively private, personalized short events tailored to the individual character & player.
Be warned; Reanimation is a traumatic experience that will forever change your character, pushing them closer to permanent Death.
The intention of these scenes is not to arbitrarily make your character suffer. Reanimation is intended to be a major story beat working in collaboration with our lore and event running team. It is not to be taken lightly or done frequently, unless you intend to tell a very short-lived tragedy.
Every reanimation scene is tailored to your character, their experiences, background and what you as a player want out of your character’s story. It can be a catalyst for major change, perhaps even for the positive in the long run! While each reanimation scene is individualized and different, one thing remains true across the board: it permanently alters your character and is an eventual character kill (CK) path.
The amount of times someone can reanimate is not entirely set in stone (and perhaps worth researching in character) but the Adept seem to be the most tenacious and resistant to the seduction of The Malice, with the aspect of Blood coming in second place behind them. Curious, that connection…
These scenes are guided and consent based. While they can certainly be intense, it is never our aim to upset the player behind the character. At Eden RP, healthy, long term collaborative roleplay is our top priority. Our team is always happy to help people navigate and mitigate bleed. how it works
Ready to rise above death? The very first thing you will do is open a Death & Reanimation ticket with us via our discord. Because it requires coordination between multiple teams, we ask for a two week heads up at minimum.
Regretfully, our team is only human, and depending on the given workload, scenes may not be able to happen as soon as possible. Scenes are tended to on a first come, first serve basis. Once a ticket has been submitted, you will be added to the Queue.
From there, our team will begin a dialogue with you. We will ask a series of questions to better understand your character and what you as the player are trying to get out of the experience.
We will also get a list of topics or themes that you want to avoid during the scene.
Next, we build the scene for you. We schedule a date and time for the scene to occur. Then its up to you to die. We’ll see you on the other side.
FAQ
-
Nope! Of course not. Reanimation is an active choice made by the player. Only submit a Death & Reanimation ticket when you’ve fully committed to doing a scene.
-
Nope! Death in Eden is weird, but not every death results in a reanimation. You can simply choose to CK without all the extra bells and whistles.
-
Easy-we will tell you with advanced notice. We do not subscribe to a “gotcha!” mentality when it comes to facilitating player choices. We will make sure that you are fully aware of what you’re walking into and can make informed choices about the direction of your character.
